The Worst Day of My Life (actually had worse this is in the top 3)

Jul 28, 2005 10:04

So we get to the airport in Gainseville right? Tiny ass little airport. Go up to give them the passports right? And guess what? My mom doesn't have her passport, she has MY DAD'S! So we can't go, so we reschedule the flight for the next day in Ft. Myers, same time. We go out to the car, and it won't start. Completely dead. My dad goes and get a guy from the Avis car rent place. He tries to charge the battery, nothing. We call AAA and they come with these huge ass cables and the car finally starts so we start driving home with instructions that we could drive it all the way home just don't turn it off for a half-hour and see how it goes. So were driving, with all the air off watching all the dials flicker crazily and all the lights on including brakes, coolant everything. This goes on for about 40 minutes.
My mom sees a sign for a car place and decides to pull off and the car stalls right there, at the exit. So this guy behind us gets out and helps my dad push the car all the way to the station about a half mile away.
So we get there and its like every bad horror movie. They are all greasy with huge beer bellies, no air conditioning, flies everywhere, and they look at my mom's car for about 45 minutes tinkering around with it. Mind you it 101 and were sitting outside. So we sit there for two hours trying to get a time estimate on when it can be fixed, it goes from oh yeah today def. to maybe not today to not until we can find another chrysler alternator to not until monday (this was after I left).
So my mom starts call all the taxi services and car services and all the taxis to get to the car services are around 70 bucks. Until an old couple also stranded there offers us a ride on there newly fixed truck with a trailer behind it. My mom and I take it shoving the baggage in the trailer. They drive us all the way to Northport with thunderstorms chasing us. I call Brandon and ask him to meet us in Northport and because he is wonderful he does. (Keep in mind he and I have been on the phone periodically with him keeping me from killing anyone)
When we are getting close to they're house Brandon calls and asks if there are suppose to be any cars in the driveway, I ask the couple and they say no. So Brandon continues to drive around, we get there and there are cars in the driveway so the nice couple parks on the grass not realizing that in the couple monthes they've been gone that has turned into marshland, and the get stuck in the mud. Brandon comes back and we find out that neighbors have appropriated there house because something was wrong with there's.
So Brandon and my mom and I drive home exhausted. And then Brandon and I get in fight. And he leaves. He comes back about an hour later and we make up and the rest of the night was nice. All one hour of it.
But now I am back from Paris. I'll spare you that story until later.
