I created a bunch of tags pre-emptively, but obviously I can't think of everything, and at the moment it's mostly a skeleton system more than anything else.
If you want a tag, have a suggestion for a tag, or otherwise have any tag modification you would like me to make, let me know here!
The ones I have in place right now are mostly just example tags, to give people an idea of how they'll work. I'll be adding tags to posts for a while as we get this system going, but once we have a good selection of tags going, I'll just remind people to tag their posts if needed.
Just a brief primer on what the different types of tags are meant to be:
- "Era" tags are about a general time period (could go from a specific decade to, well, the roman empire, though in this case era also crosses over a bit with location).
- "Event" tags are about specific points in time, such as Woodstock or World War II.
- "Place" tags are about locations (i.e. "place: New York City" for any question about the city, from how it was founded to the weather).
- "People" tags are about, well, specific people. Want to write something involving Adolf Hitler and want to know a bit more about him, ask here.
- "Topic" tags are about broad things like, say, clothing or music.
- "Fandom" tags are when you've got resources specific to a fandom (such as a compendium of weapons used in fandom, or a good meta/resource post that might be useful to writers of that fandom).
In the mean time, feel free to just add notes to the bottom of your posts asking for tags if you want a tag! :)
