Michael John DeAngelo works in a live-stage community theater in White Plains New York, goes into the city of New York often for other backstage work, but tends to avoid certain jobs and neighborhoods. He won't usually talk much about why, but if pressed, he will admit to having ties to the mafia in New York.
His father had moved to California when he was a teen to get away from the mafia's influence after Tony DeSala murdered his own wife and Michael's uncle, Eugene DeAngelo, for having an affair. But Michael (Mikey to his friends--though he'll respond to anything: Mike, Michael, "hey you" included) moved back for college, also because he missed what he'd grown up with in New York. He was in college for a few years before some classes and being unable to pay tuition kicked his ass, so he had to quit, but couldn't move back home simply because he couldn't afford to do so.
Savior: Childhood friends with the daughter of one of New York's mafia families, Allegria DeSala, Michael gets a wake-up call one day when he's beaten for having lunch with a girl, Emily Lution, the daughter of a New Jersey cop, and is reminded that no one can get away from the mob.
Oh yeah, and occasionally he wears argyle socks.
Lights and Lyrics: Mikey's family never left New York after his uncle Gene was murdered, and he was pulled into the mafia lifestyle to become a successful club manager and a minor soldato in the DeSala crime family.
