Road Trip
What a weekend! Brian and I left on Sunday afternoon for a trip to ThunderBay, with a quick stop in Duluth at the lift bridge to switch drivers. Brian surprises me with a sunset dinner with a table facing the lake at Lutsen. Since I drove slightly faster then he thought, we sat in the bar and had fries and martinis while watching the first part of the super bowl. Dinner was lovely! Very nice surprise. We also played to very good games of air hockey. We get to the border at 9. After a 15 minute wait for a our passports back, we realize that they are in the Eastern time zone. Shit! So we drive to Thunderbay, the hotel directions are horrible, we are almost out of gas and lost. We finally find the hotel at 11. I do a quick change in this very old and very nice 3 star hotel on the shore and find fuel. Brians card stops working. Its 11:30 and we leave for the club. Benny gets on at 11:30. We find it and are in there at 11:45ish. We have no CAD but luckily coat check takes USD. It takes them a minute to find our reservation. It was great music though! I just wish Brian likes to dance cause it was killer dancing music. After some more ‘funny stories’ we head back to the hotel. Had a good time that night, despite the small bed. I didn’t get up in time to use the pool cause Brian wanted to get an early start. On the way back down, we stopped at Split Rock Lighthouse and Goosberry Falls. All in all, it was a great quick road trip with Brian.
