Uncle Sam and other musings

Uncle Sam finally made it to my doorstep this past week. bullettheblue came up on Tuesday to cash the check (it needed my signature) and we got tickets for Great Big Sea and had lunch at Kieran's downtown (I overordered...my eyes thought I was hungrier than I ended up being).

Work is a breeze, more or less. Go in, do the stuff, get out before 11am more often than not. Broke 40 at the golf course on Tuesday (was playing two balls on most holes, but not simultaneously, so it was a best-case score and not what might happen in tournament play). Speaking of tournament, the course is holding an event in late August to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I'm thinking of entering.

Sunday will be "buzz off" day around the apartment. I will rest and relax and not go anywhere (still have to get laundry done, but that's not a problem). Gotta say that I love Bake getting named to the Olympic squad and I pegged it a week before the national media picked up on the idea (check out http://www.AmericanSoccerReader.com for my piece written on March 23rd entitled "18 Tickets to Beijing"...I got 13 of the 18 right, with one miss due to injury and a second due to what looks to be a formation shift by the coach).
