You thought about making a joke?

Something to ease the tension, but like I said, it would diminish what people went through.

It's a good thing you didn't.

Were you hurt, did they take you?

Does someone have to be hurt to care?

No, but I was going to ask if there was something I could do to help you if you had been injured. We need to look out for each other here.

I'm good, but-I think there were people caught in there. People who won't ever return home now.

There's always hope. Their situation could change.

By making a deal with the bloody deities?

That's why you shouldn't joke.

Maybe. Granted I'm the last person who should be condoning deals of any kind with any supernatural being, but if not that, maybe there's another way. You can't just on people because they've been... killed.

Again, hence the reason I didn't. But for all the bad, if you stop seeing the good, what's the point?

No, because if you give them something, you let them win. It shouldn't be like that.

What's good about imprisoning people? Playing with them and acting like it's a good show on the telly?

What's good is that so many survived. The act is terrible, but the survivors are just that, survivors worthy to be celebrated even when you mourn for those you've lost.

It doesn't-

Not enough people are mourning.

You can't wallow in grief, and everyone mourns differently.
