I need to recreate an openindiana image

The openindiana image which runs on my laptop under virtualbox is so slow. It's an image I created on another machine in a VM and copied over to the laptop. The previous image which I created on the laptop and had deleted while looking for diskspace ran a lot quicker. There must me some install-time optimizations which are lost when you just copy VMs.
