2006 Everything But Imaginary Awards: Make YOUR Nominations!
It’s time once again to start casting your ballots for the EVERYTHING BUT IMAGINARY AWARDS! For those of you new to EBI this year, this is the fourth annual presentation of the best in comics, as voted on by the readers of my Comixtreme.com column. But this year, I’m changing things up a little. In the past, I’ve held the voting wide open - vote for whoever you want, top vote getter wins. Several people indicated to me last year, though, that they’d be more inclined to vote if they had a ballot of nominees to choose from. Now I don’t want to pick the nominees myself, as that would rather defeat the purpose of letting you guys vote, but I think I’ve found a compromise.
From now until Christmas Day, December 25, I will be accepting nominees in each category. Each member can make three nominations, ranked #1, #2 and #3. All #1s will get three points, #2s 2 points and #3s one point. Then, on December 27, I’ll announce the “ballot,” with the top three vote-getters in each category being the finalists. The winners will be announced in the first EBI of the New Year on January 3rd.
For example, if you think the three best Superhero comics are:
1. Awesome Man
2. Spandex Woman
3. The Legion of X-Justice Avenging Defenders
Then “Awesome Man” will get three points, “Spandex Woman” two points and “Legion” one point towards becoming a finalist. Now I must ask, do not post your votes here in the thread. You can send them to me via private message at Comixtreme or e-mail them to Blake@comixtreme.com. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them here. Here's your chance, guys, to make sure your favorite comics are represented!
