Marvel
Bestselling SF writer Orson Scott Card completely reinvents the Iron Man origin from the beginning. The story is a complex one, and this issue is just laying the groundwork. Card, as usual, is fascinated by biotechnology, so we have a bacterial armor that only works on a person infected with a virus that increases tissue regeneration. Most of it is presented pretty plausibly, and Card takes the time to explain enough of the science to be convincing. Some people might find the pacing a bit slow. Tony Stark hasn’t even been born by the end of the issue (he’s been conceived, at least).
