Jazz music

I've been thinking lately that there's been something missing in my life lately, and I think that I've got it figured out. I think that I should listen to more jazz music.

Any recommendations on whom I should listen to? I'd prefer something mostly instrumental. One person whom I've enjoyed in the past is Wynton Marsalis, but I can't think of ( Read more... )

I got a "Best of Oscar Peterson" CD for Christmas. It's been serving me quite well since then - especially since only one song has vocals! The man wasn't much with the singing. Which I can respect :)

I guess it depends what kind you like. I'm not the authority, so I have no clue, but I've enjoyed Miles Davis a *lot*, and Etta James is great too, though she broaches more on pop.

I highly recommend "Jazz classiks on toys" by Robert Lafond and the Symfunny Orchestra.
