I was at the mall today, and I went by Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up one or two small items. They had a one-day promotion where if you spent $50 or more, you could get 20 times the Optimum points. Keeping that in mind, I picked up some Reactine (for next spring) and was awarded over 10000 bonus points.
Also, I went to the bank to withdraw some cash. The two ATM's had a line-up about six people deep, but none of the tellers were serving anyone. So I went right up to the desk, withdrew some cash from a real-live teller, and was out of the bank before half of the people in front of me in line had made it to the ATM. I guess that we've been so accustomed to technology that we've forgotten that we can still interact with actual people for service.
