Art has been on my mind a lot lately. i said in a few entries back that i felt like art was about to explode out of everyone and it seems like it is as i write this. Irreversible has started playing with a new bassist named David and things are going great with our new album. the album will be called Light and it might sound crazy but the album is literally writing itself. i have come to the conclusion that art is an entity in itself that flows through certain human beings. well it flows through all human beings all of the time from the way a grown man eats a whopper with cheese to the way Alex Gray portrays a sacred mirror. i believe now that there are individuals whose sole purpose on the planet is to produce art and once again i ask, why wasnt that the main focus from the get go?? we are so lucky as a species to be able to portray our emotions to other people but we have sacrificed art for wealth for recognition. im not sure if that made any sense at all. it is hard writing about this because i really dont think i have a lot of the right vocabulary to use to describe how this new album is working. basically the album will revolve around the circle of fifths ( now im a drummer so i dont know to much about how music works. i just keep the rhythm and the beat ). every song will be a fifth step down from the previous song. so each of the 12 songs will sound a little different but they will all coincide together in the end. the basis for this album is fractal understanding fused with plant shamanics and the archaic revival.
