So, the weekend saw me attend V festival in Stafford. Me and Ben made the journey down on Saturday and arrived making excellent time. We found a dry spot to pitch our tent but suddenly came across a large problem. Ben had forgotten the waterproof part of the tent - just as the heavens opened and we were caught in a torrential downfall which was not to clear until late Sunday morning. So Ben had to go off and purchase a new tent, for the pricey sum of £50! A rip-off when it was as big as a shoe-box and any movement seemed to wind up with one of us falling onto the other!
Then we headed off to the bands - we saw Hard-Fi who were considerably shite - with the lead singer being totally tone-deaf. But the comedic value was Ben had eaten about 6 pots of Herbal Highs stuff and ended up involuntarily dancing despite hating it! The rest of the day saw Paul Weller rock the house with old classics, Groove Armada funk it up, The Cooper Temple Clause play a wicked new song called 'Damage', and argue live on stage, and the highlight of the day, Faithless with a perfect, soulful set!
Back to the camp at around 1am to find we'd actually camped amongst a group of angry brummies who argued, shouted, kicked each other in the head, played guitars and harmonicas, sang, screamed about wanting more drugs and who had the beer, dropped a guitar on Ben's head whilst trying to sleep and moaned about spilt gin. Kept us up til god knows when and when I reawoke at 9am - they were STILL shouting!!
However Sunday was scorching and aided me to getting a sunburnt nose and cheeks! More greasy festival food and trudging in yesterday's mud, the an amazing line up of bands, including The Cardigans, Kula Shaker with a surprise comeback, The Ordinary Boys who pulled out due to a member being taken to hospital, Editors, Kasabian, Fatboy Slim and the ever-awe-inducing Radiohead. :D
Videos and pictures galore! (will post soon!)
Yesterday Richard came over and we hung out. Today hung out at Richard's then went blackberry picking with Dave and intended to make blackberry crumble, then shortly realised that our oven broke 4 months ago and we're too broke to buy a new one. *sigh*
Richard keeps asking me out, which I just don't know the answer for. I used to really like him but then he messed me and Dave around with all the texts and I've found he lies/exaggerates a lot of things, plus it'd put Dave's mose out of joint though I shouldn't really care what he thinks, but I just don't want him to get all whingey on me, but I do kinda like Richard still, if he could just tone himself down a bit, as I find him a bit in-my-face at times. But I don't see it lasting if we got together and I don't want another difficult relationship, and surely you shouldn't start a relationship with doubts? Hmpph.
