After my conversation with Lilah I knew that it was time for me to act. I had to find out whatever Wolfram and Hart had planned for my daughter and for my granddaughter. I drove my car to the firm and parked it in my assigned parking spot. I went up to my office and sat down behind my desk. The firm had no idea that my loyalties were not with them ( Read more... )

After heading into the kitchen and scrounging up some food with Morrigan and Kennedy, Ken finally convinced me to go take a nap, or a rest or whatever. I swear that chick totally reminds me of well me back in the day. It's almost too amusing to keep arguing with her when she starts getting all persistant.

I ended up sorta wandering around instead. Thinking, freaking out, then more thinking and more freaking out. I wanted Tessa and B and Willow and Dawn here now, so we could go find Angel. He was gonna be my best bet to figuring out what the hell to do about Wesley.

As I wandered down the steps in the lobby I froze when I saw Lena standing there.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, forcing a neutral expression onto my face.

"Faith, I know you have no reason to trust me. But I must talk to you. I have news that you need to hear."

Realizing I still had the ridiculous baseball cap on, I took it off and tossed it on a couch.

I snorted when she said that she knew I didn't trust her. Hell, that was the understatement of the year. For all I knew she was the one who fed me and Morrigan to Wesley and Wolfram and Hart.

Walking down the rest of the steps I walked into the lobby and stood across from her. I wondered if it would ever feel normal, looking at her. No, I decided. It probably wouldn't ever.

"What is it?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest, scowling at her. "Another safe house where no one is really safe?"

"Lilah came to me earlier. She had divorce papers that she wanted you to sign. She wanted me to tell you where you were and I didn't. Honestly, I didn't know where you were at the time."

I sat down on the couch and crossed my legs at the knee. "I know that I can tell you until I am blue in the face that I had nothing to do with the safe house being compromised, but I know you won't believe me. So I'll just tell you what else I came here to tell you and be done with it."

I took a deep breath. "The wolf has emerged from Wesley's body. I am looking into whether or not it is reversable." I didn't think that it was, but I didn't want to hit her with that right now. "I wanted to warn you before it was too late, that he is after you."
