MOUSE!

So I just chased a mouse out of my apartment. Oy.

Camdin was over, which made it really funny. I was talking to him, and all of the sudden he starts shooshing me, and we go silent, and then I hear it: a crinkling sound coming from the pantry. So I go in there, and I can tell it's coming from the open bag of chips. So I rustle it, and the mouse goes running across the pantry shelves, so I start screaming and jumping up and down, which totally freaks Camdin out. So, it has now run behind some cushions I had on the shelves in there, so I moved those, and the mouse falls to the ground and runs into the dog crate that is for some reason still in the pantry. So I move the pillow in the dog crate, and the mouse runs under the refridgerator. Around this point, Camdin (who kept trying to leave, but I wouldn't let him) got up onto a chair. So, I decided to try and use my tried and true method of catching the mouse in a coke box. Well, after shaking the fridge, and shoving my duster under there, the mouse finally runs out from under the fridge, through the kitchen, and onto the porch, where it runs into a small canvas bag. This is a good thing because, as those of you who have been to my apartment know, when the porch door is closed, there is no way anything is getting back into my apartment. So I go out on the porch (by myself, I might add), and pick up the little canvas bag and take it outside (I checked to made sure the mouse was in it, and it surely was. I shook it, but I couldn't tell if the mouse ran out or not. So, needless to say, I left the bag outside.

The whole thing was quite hilarious, and there was a lot of screaming, most of it done by me. I'm not at all freaked out by mice in theory, but I really don't like small, fast-moving things hiding behind things in my house, and I especially don't like them pooping in my house, and getting into my food with their diseased little bodies. I might also add that this is the second mouse that I've gotten out of my apartment without the use of traps, since I've discovered that traps do approximately nothing. At least the kind I've bought, which are no kill traps, since I can't stand the idea of having to take out a poor little mouse's dead body.

Anyhow, that was really funny.

I went to see this movie today called The King of Kong. It's playing at the Landmark, and it was really, really good. I recommend it if you are looking for a good film to see, since at the very end of summer good films can be few and far between. It's a documentary, but it is one of the most eventful, engaging, emotional documentaries I've seen.

I still haven't packed for my trip. I'm really tired.
