Faith was pulling her and Willow’s stuff from underneath the bus. Cautiously, Willow stepped off the bus with a soft ‘Thank you’ to the driver. Faith hefted their stuff onto her back and turned to a sleazy guy looking her up and down.
“New in town, right? You got that "new in town" look. It's a dangerous part of town this time of night for a young lady. You know? A lot of people down here try to take advantage of a situation like that. Especially if you don't have any money, a place to stay. I might be able to help.”
Faith looked at this guy. Was he tripping? The only reason he was talking so much was because she was giving him nothing else to go on. Willow had halted a couple of steps away from them as the bus backed up.
Raising an eyebrow, she tested the water to see if this guy was exactly what she thought he was. Manimal down to Mr. I-Love-The-English-Patient; they all had beast in them.
“I'm cold,” she offered, small voiced. Behind her, Willow’s raised her eyebrows.
“Oh, yeah. Warm is my middle name,” came Sleazy’s retort. Yeah, just like she thought.
Faith attacked him.
“Faith! No!” Willow ran at her. What did the slayer think she was doing? What would Buffy think? Hadn’t Faith wanted to get away from this?
Sleazy lay unconscious on the ground. Willow thought she saw blood seeping slowly from him onto the pavement.
“Now I got money. And a place to stay.” Faith glanced from her ill gotten gains across to Willow. “I think I'm gonna like it here.”
Willow was horrified. “You can’t… you can’t just do that! That isn’t just your right to… to mug him!”
“Did you see the way that guy was coming on? He woulda done far worse if he got his chance.” She kicked him for good measure.
“How can you just decide that?” Willow asked, backing down to just shock. “I thought you wanted to take yourself away from all that.”
“From killer to new leaf turned? It doesn’t work like that, Red.”
“Well… It should!” Willow said forcefully.
Faith took a step towards her. “There are a lot of things that ‘should be’.” The brunette looked at her girl from lightly scuffed sneakers to loose hanging top. “Remind me to show you some of those things sometime.”
