Change of events has taken control of my life. I went to ASI last week wondering in many respects why I was going. And now all of my dreams are being fulfilled. Throughout the ASI experience I was being convicted that I was not to attend Andrews University this fall, and that I was going to be at Southern. So I spent many hours in Prayer (thank you everyone who was praying for me). On Friday I went to the Southern booth - at first they gave me information for undergraduate and I was like graduate - so I talked with them and they told me to get in contact with Professor Hassell on Sabbath, so they invited me to the Southern meeting that they were going to have. That evening Justin and I prayed for like two hours about the things that were going to happen, and I had this strong sense and just couldn’t stop saying that I was going to get my sign tomorrow (Sabbath) and that I would completely get my signs by Sunday. So I told Justin after we were done praying that I was going to get my sign tomorrow (Sabbath). Well, Sabbath afternoon arrives I go to the meeting, meet people and Professor Hassell shows up and I’m like good, but then he left early because he had a meeting. And I was like, “ Well, Lord what do you want me to do? if you want me to go to Southern I’m going to have to meet Dr. Hassell.” So after the meeting I am just walking around and here I am praying and I’m like “alright Lord I really need to see Dr. Hassell if you want me to go to Southern” and next thing you know it Dr. Hassell is walking toward me. I stop him and say Dr. Hassell you have just answered my prayer and tell him my situation about how I believe that I am to go to Southern. So he gives me a phone number and we start to walk up the escalators and asks me, “Malcolm I just have one question for you, why Southern, why not go to Andrews? Because I even recommend that our undergraduate students going to Andrews?” And I was like “I don’t know I just know that the Lord is leading me to Southern.” So he starts to talk about Andrews and tells me the benefits of why I am supposed to go there, and then I prayed right there, “Lord is this my sign” and all of a sudden there is a change of tone and he starts to talk about Southern. So those are the first two signs and I am convicted that I am supposed to go to Southern. Sunday I am praying, “well, Lord when should I leave for Southern?” So I called up one of my friends and he’s like well, “how about we pray about it right now?” So were praying and I was speaking to the Lord saying, “Lord if you want me to leave today have my mom call me, and then I start to reason, oh no Lord how about I call my mom and she’ll be fine with it.” Then when were done praying I say to the Lord, “no I’m going to take this by faith, if you want me to leave now, have my mom call me right n…” and all of a sudden I get a phone call and it’s my mom. So then I am like mom you will not believe what just happened…” and I told her everything. At first she thought Southwestern, and said, “so your going back to Keene?” And I was like no Tennessee. So right after we ate, my friends and I from the EGW Research Center went to the mall and then I took a friend to the airport and I left for Southern. On my way I stopped and picked up a hitchhiker, I took him out to eat, dropped him off at his house in Jackson, Mississippi, and gave him a Steps to Christ and he gave me his address and told me to keep in touch. So I’m pretty excited, my first friend in Mississippi. Now I’m at Southern Adventist University, in my own dorm room, and am a graduate student getting my Master of Arts with an Emphasis in Evangelism. I am so having the time of my life…
