So I went to the Three Doors Down concert with
Kim last night. Got to see everyone but Breaking Benjamin play. Very good show. Even got to see a mystery guest perform with 3 Doors. Ran into a couple of guys from work up there. It was a blast. Good company, good show, good conversation. Very glad I went. I'd get more into that, but there's a better topic up for grabs right now.
While we were sitting in the parking lot (term used when sitting at a standstill waiting to leave DTE) Kim's phone rings. She was expecting a call from this guy named Jay. Now I've never meet Jay before, but from conversation with Kim he seemed like a decent individual. I can't say this for 100% because I've never meet him before. Well, a ringing phone needs answering, so I answer it. Prior to answering it, Kim had informed me that at the least, Jay is a very intelligent individual. This sparks my interest in a couple of different ways. 1) It was stated he was a nice guy. 2) It was stated he was an intelligent guy. Well, as always I like to see good people get to where they want to be in life. So I answer the phone.
Jay seemed... upset by me answering the phone. Something as minor as another person answering the phone is not normally this upsetting, so I asked Jay what he did for a living. Well apparently by asking what he did for a living I have now been labeled by Jay and his associates as something beyond myself. Please see Jay's post using the above link to see for yourself. I hate putting words into other people's mouths. Upon hearing of Jay's current profession I inquire as to what his forte is. Now when I speak the word forte, I prefer to use Webster's first pronounciation of the word. Which just so happens to sound like "Fortay". I use this specific pronounciation so that people do not misinterpret my meaning. If I were to ask someone what their forte (pronounced as fort) is, they might reply something along the lines of, "my kids built a fort out of blankets once." I was instantly corrected (?) on my pronounciation and then attacked for my line of questions.
In cutting this post short so that I can go to bed, I'll pose a simple question to all the readers out there.
Would you refuse an opportunity that may present itself from a friend of a friend that you'd never meet before?
