I'm at work right now. I was aggrivated, but shortly after pointing out to someone she was stupid -- all be it in a very politically correct and non-condescending way -- I'm no longer aggrivated. I'm amused.
This lady, we'll call her Lady, booked a reservation online two months ago for December 9-10. Three weeks ago, Lady booked another reservation for December 10-11. Both came across our online reservation system and both were entered into the compy here by yours truly.
A week ago, December 5, a cancellation request comes across the system for Lady. The cancellation is for the December 9-10 reservation. That's it. Nothing else. Period.
Well, as it turns out, Lady didn't check in on December 10 for her second reservation. So, since she was a NSNC2 (No show, no call/no cancel) we charged her card. With most people, they understand this and, while they're not okay with it (or moreso not okay with themself for cancelling), they accept it.
Lady calls the hotel in a tizzy wanting to know, "What dis char on mah caw? You char mah caw but I no stay at hotel." I felt like saying, "No shit, you're a bright cookie...I bet you were top in your class." But we all know I didn't. She then orders me to fix the problem "kick-ly". I chuckled. She didn't find it too amusing, but whatever.
After 10...yes 10 long-duck-dong minutes of explaining things to her, I hear her screaming out to her husband in Chinese or Japanese or some other language that sounds like pots and pans being dropped down some stairs. Apparently she was under some impression that even though she had two seperate reservations, only the one cancellation would suffice.
Not that I felt good about showing someone that she was wrong, but I felt bad for her husband for having to take the brunt of her stupidity...and married people fighting is funny.
I should get back to work and take care of these check-ins that have pilled up while I've been typing this. I should take Lady's advice and get them done "kick-ly".
