I'm so glad I slept until noon today...you have no idea.
I get to work at 1 today, and was supposed to get to leave at 9pm, but my departure time from here is now 7am. Yeah, 18 fun-filled hours.
Earlier this morning, around 6:30 a guest called the front desk here and told the night audit guy that he was having trouble breathing. Patrick (night audit guy) in turned called 911. Ten minutes later the paramedics (and two fire trucks) arrive at the hotel. The guy that called the front desk had EVERY lock engaged on his door, thus having to have the paramedics wreck havoc on it to get it open.
Patrick freaks out as they're rolling him out through the lobby cause he's never seen anyone that close to death before. It freaks him out so much that he doesn't want to come in tonight, thus my pulling a little longer than double-duty. It's extra money, so I'm not going to complain.
Needless to say, they get the guy to the hospital, but he soon passes on. They're sending his body to Dallas for an autopsy. Speculation was that he had a heart attack.
I just wonder how much more of a chance he might have had if he hadn't had all the locks set on his door.
It's weird how life has a way of working out.
work,
death
