Well, I won't soon forget THAT flight. 13.5 hours. Woof. On top of the length of the flight, it was absolutely completely 100% full (no empty seats, overbooked by 13), and the two pursers on board were extraordinarily chatty and in-your-face -- yap yap yap seatbelt sign yap yap yap two choices for breakfast yap yap yap... It was quite turbulent throughout, which didn't help matters, and we were seated in three of the four middle seats on the 747, which meant there wasn't much elbow room. Altogether entirely uncomfortable, but at least we are home now. (Did I mention the food was bad? Yeah. Thanks, United.)
Anyhow, home again home again. Tonight we'll be eating some tasty Chinese food at Hunan Home's (oh yeah, baby), and tomorrow we'll be having some (affordable!) coffee and pains au chocolat at Tartine before I jump on a plane back to PDX. Ah yes, the wonderful ice storms. I knew I'd been missing out on something. But at least I'll be bringing some Aussie and Kiwi beer with me. Wahoo.
Not much else to report, I suppose. The trip was busy and all that, but if people reading this want to know more, they should ask me personally. Because that's what friends do, eh?
Meanwhile, I'm going to wait for the hot water heater to make a shower possible, eat something that doesn't come from concentrate and contains no vegemite, and perhaps nap a bit.
