Prologue

Prince Kame touched the handle of his suitcase nervously.

He was nervous; after all he was making an enormous change in his life.

He, the prince of Akin, was going to renounce his title and give up the throne to his younger brother, Yamashita Tomohisa.

Course, his parents had reacted violently, but they had no choice.   It was either that or him running away.  At least this way they could keep tabs on him.

After all, he was in love.

“Oni-chan!”

He jumped in surprise, nearly knocking his suitcase over.

“We, the member of NEWS, are here to say good-bye!”

And with that the door was flung open, and his younger brother and his friends were standing in the doorway.

He was tackled by his younger brother, being captured in a warm, tight embrace.

“Yamapi!” exclaimed Kame, trying to push the other off him.

“Oni-chan~ I’m going to miss you very very much!”  And with that the other pressed a kiss on his forehead.  He then let go of him and stepped back, grinning brightly.

“We’re going to miss you too!” chorused the other NEWS members.

One of them walked up to him, known as Massu, and smiled brightly.  He bowed then, “Thank you very much, Kame.  You’ve always been there for me and treated me like your younger brother~  I’ll never forget you.”

“Idiot!” scolded Ryo Nishikido.  “It’s not like he’s leaving forever.”

There was a pause.

“Wait, you aren’t right?”  He regarded Kame with a cold stare.

He grinned, “If I was you’re going to miss me lots right Ryo-chaaan~?”

The man blushed before looking away, “Course I am.  Who else will help me take care of Pi?”

“Awwwwww~ Ryo-chan’s embarrassed!”  teased Koyama.

“Koyama!” chided Shige.  “That’s rude, apologize~”

“You guys are all idiots!” he heard his younger brother complain.  “You have to say a proper good-bye!”

With that a round of six voices came up, “Bye, Kazuya~!”

And with that, his younger brother was herding them all out of his room, giving Kame his privacy.

Kame sighed contently; in a few hours, he’ll be able to see him again.

Jin Akanishi.

His love,

his fiancé.

Jin…

~~~~~
“Jin!  Don’t run so fast,” cried a little six-year-old Kame.
He was chasing after another little boy, probably around seven years old, barely keeping up with him.
The other turned to look at him, stopping in the process.  And just as Kame was going to run into him, he swept the other into a warm embrace.
“Don’t worry, Kame-chan, I won’t ever leave you behind.”
The little Kame smiled before snuggling into the other embrace.
“We’re going to be together forever right?”
“Yup!  No matter what, we won’t ever be separated!”
Little Kame snuggled even more before realizing something and springing back, regarding little Jin with his eyes and a frown.
“Liar!  Prove to me you won’t leave me,” he pouted cutely at the prince.
Instead of teasing back or making it into a joke like he usually did, Prince Jin smiled warmly at the other.
“Then, I, Akanishi Jin of the Stryka kingdom, propose to you, Kazuya Kamenashi of the Aikn kingdom.”
And with that the other swept a soft peck on the other’s lips.
“It’s a promise then!”  giggled Kame.
And the rest of the day, they played make-believe wedding; Jin even making a ring out of flowers and slipping it onto Kame’s ring finer.
~~~~~

That was the day that they had promised to be together.

Forever.

But after that day, he had left to go back to the Aikn kingdom, never seeing the prince of his heart again.

Until now.  A few hours in a carriage and he’ll be able to see him again.

Jin, I wonder…just what are you doing right now?

~~~~~
In the Stryka kingdom, a certain prince sighed.
“I’m tired,” the prince complained to his best friend, Tatsuya Ueda.
“What?” the other responded, looking up from his book.  “Then go to sleep.”
“No, Tat-chan!  That’s not what I meant.  I mean, I’m tired.  Of going out with so many girls.”
“Oh,” blinked the feminine man, “well, you have to until you find that one.  After all, your parents want an heir right?”
“But but but…it’s just so unfair Tat-chan!”
The other put down his book regretfully before looking up at the prince. “Well then, Jin, why don’t you just settle down with a girl then?”
“Because.”
Ueda sighed inwardly; he was used to Jin beating around the bush.  “Because?”
“Just because.”
Ueda just smiled and picked up his book again.  He knew that he wasn’t going to get anything more out of Jin.
Jin looked out of the window, hugging his knees to his chest.
He sighed softly; answering the question that he could never answer out loud.
Because of Kazuya Kamenashi.
My love.
Where are you Kame?
~~~~~

“Are you ready, your highness?”

He nodded; too nervous for words.

And with his heart in his throat, he took a step into the carriage; changing his life forever.
