Visiting French director Alain Timar gives the Tanghalang Pilipino theater group in Manila a non-traditional, upbeat approach to Samuel Beckett’s "Waiting for Godot," the philosophical masterpiece about the senselessness (or purposefulness) of human existence.
In this version, two tramps wait for the arrival of God(ot) in a community along the riles. This absurdist drama gets Filipinized, complete with street slang, Pinoy humor and a tricycle on stage.
