Yesterday I received a long-awaited letter from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Helsinki informing me that I had been accepted as a major in the Finnish language! The moment I held the thick envelope in my trembling hands felt so unreal I cannot describe it as precisely as I wish I could, but I trust you can imagine it yourself. The sudden rush of joy and relief through my veins, I felt intoxicated for the rest of the day, my cheeks glowing violently red as if I had fever... I could not stop smiling, I still cannot.
I am looking forward to autumn more than ever now. Everything is going to be so different and exciting from the past. I cannot wait!
