That really, really helps, thank you! I was thinking of trying to keep track of who went to college, and shorten their life spans accordingly in the elder stage, or send non-collegiate Sims on vacation for a week instead. Just describing it makes my eyes cross, so all ideas are welcome. I didn't even think of sending the teens to college early. It seems obvious now, though.
There would still be a time discrepancy with my non-method method, which I was just going to explain away by saying "College educated people live longer because they're more likely to afford doctors and heed their advice." Totally not accurate, but it made some sort of sense... kinda, not really.
I thought about just subtracting vacation days from life spans. Lame, but oh well.
I've switched up the rotations from weeks to seasons. So each rotation will be shorter and I won't have to struggle as much to keep everybody in sync, weather wise. Just use the weather controller or SimWardrobe's hack to set the season. So if a vacation was five days, I'd just set the weather ahead to the next season, subtract five days, and call it a round. But vacations get boring or expensive at times.
I'm just letting college folk age at a different rate to the non-college folk. Much the same as you, I'm handwaving it by saying that not everyone ages at the same rate. And so long as a younger sibling doesn't become older than the others, then I'm really not too worried, lol.
Rotation by season does seem a whole lot easier to manage than the alternative. I'm certainly doing the RKC that way, hadn't thought about modifying Krow to make it so. But then, I'm kind of used to their seasons being all over the shop, so oh well. XD
And, yeah. Long vacations are good if you have a reason to go there, but within a BACC it's not so practical. I find that the shortest vacation is quite perfect for a weekend trip. (Which is what this group of Omeganites did.) Probably even more so if they had a nice vacation home.
I suspect I'm going to run into the long-living elders despite the adjustments in my age hack, so I'll probably still shorten their lifespans just to save my sanity. I've had way too many elders in legacies where I tell them to "just die already!" And every day, after 6 pm, I hope that Grimmy arrives for them. But oh, no, they're too busy for him. On the other hand, that will provide incentive to build a retirement village, which I've always wanted to do. Can you imagine the cuteness they'd get into?
The mixed up weather was one thing that bothered me about my old BaCC. I wanted them to celebrate seasonal holidays together, but I'd never remember to set the weather in most of the households.
I've been toying on and off with the idea of having a retirement village for the next gen, depending on which families require free babysitting. @_@ It would be so adorable. Plus, I think they're a great idea for a BACC, since the idea is to construct a community. You should definitely make one. :3
Aha! Finally found where on the web this hack was. It allows Sims to call a friend to babysit at any residential lot, not just apartments. Because Grandma and Grandpa want to have a day off, too!

TL;DR? I ramble about Sims.

Pretty nifty, especially for BaCCs when the useless nanny service isn't allowed for ages.
