Krow - Week 10 - The Hark-Crowley Family

Aug 18, 2011 12:06

I played this family's rotation without a plan, because having a plan all the time is boring. It went pretty well, but Fraps ate some of my earlier pictures. :C Anyway, since this is probably the least conventional house in Krow, let's have a quick recap of who's who. Onwards!

There are seven darn sims in this very small house, so I went in order of who got up in the morning. Here's Andrjez Platz, engaged to the household matriarch Elizabeth Hark.

He and Elizabeth had twin girls last week, Anne and Marie - they'll appear later on. He's a knowledge sim and currently rather high up in the criminal career track.

Here's Liz, head of the house and family founder.

That's Andrew Crowley, they're best friends. Andrew is single at present, and father to half-alien, half-sim Aurora Crowley.

Aurora is a few days younger than Jessica Hark, who is Elizabeth's first and oldest child. I took a photo, Fraps ate it. :C Andrjez is not her father, Liz came to Krow as a single and pregnant young woman. She's due to grow up in three days, eee. :D

The house is quite small, so it's almost impossible to do anything without other family hanging around too. Having twins doesn't help.

Work and school! Neither Andrew nor Liz have jobs, but we'll see how the week goes. Andrjez and the girls came home at the same time, along with Sophie Patchwork. After they were home, I sent Andrew off to the grocery to get some food for the fridge. He and Liz circle each other a lot because of ACR, even though she has higher chemistry with Andrjez and is engaged to him. So it's good to keep them apart a fair bit, lol.

Once he was home, the kids played in the yard (and on the street) whilst Liz and Andrjez went jogging.

Jessica woke up at 2am, so she got the honour of studying, cleaning up, and generally staying quiet. Come the morning, the girls and Andrjez left again, leaving Liz and Andrew to take care of the twins. It's a tricky household layout to play, might I add, since there's no sitting/recreational space. AT ALL.

I'm sure that Liz feels quite bored being at home all day, even if she has Andrew for company, and I'm sure Andrew feels the same. They're also about to roll into summer. So! They got a small garden plot for Andrew and Liz to dabble with, until better job opportunities come up, and the kids are old enough to not need their attention all of the time.

Aurora helped her dad fertilise it, and then I remembered that I was going to use that space to host a wedding party come the weekend. Darn.

...

They fell in love. Whoo. :|

If she ends up pregnant, I dunno wtf I'll do.

Did I mention that Liz is a FAMILY SIM? Andrew is a Knowledge sim so no expectations there, but geeze. I'd really rather they didn't do this. If Andrjez finds out then I have to figure out how to deal with that and I'd really rather not, lol.

Moving on...

Birthdays!

Sadly, I missed Jessica's growing up because Anne and Marie went a bit buggy after their birthday transition. :C All I have is the post-confetti.

Jessica turned into a Romance Sim! She wants to become an Icon, which is top of the Show Business career. I think that's interesting, but a bit of a shame. It's a university only degree, and she may not get one. Two weeks to raise funds? It's quite unlikely, unless her family becomes the one to fund a private university themselves... which is even more laughable. Anyway, Jessica has one cooking skill and three logic, and her OTH is tinkering. I'm not sure what I'll do with her as an adult. She grew up in high gold, which is nice.

New clothes and hair? Sure thing!

Bonus profile shot for your benefit. I'm sorry about the others in the background, but maybe that helps communicate how TEENY TINY this house is. :C

As for the toddlers...

Marie!

Anne. :D

House too small. :C

Day 4, I think?

This lovely lady here is the first sim that Andrew has had two bolts with. Every other potential mate has been a mere one bolter. This may be enough to keep his mind off of Liz! They haven't canoodled since they hooked up on the couch, so maybe the two of them have it out of their system entirely.

Meanwhile, Andrjez came home with a promotion to Smuggler. :D He's almost at the top!

Keen to socialise with others her age but outside of school, and to escape a house of toddlers, Jessica moseyed on out to the Omega Bar.

The bar tender was spending time doing sales instead of tending, which isn't what I want. Thanks, game. :C So, Jessica packed it up and went to the restaurant instead. She didn't get along with Joseph Omega very well at all.

Not long after 1am, Andrjez heads off to work as a smuggler. Networking with a friend has earned him a definite promotion next shift, and that'll make him Criminal Mastermind. :D

Sure enough, once Andrjez comes home, a promotion comes with him. Sweeeeet. :D

He's now top of the Criminal Career, and this unlocks a) another criminal slot, b) a slot in intelligence and c) a slot in law enforcement.

Looking at my careers and junk, though, I'm starting to think that they need a bit of an overhaul. Not sure.

Tiny house. ;_;

While at work, Andrjez got a chance card that netted him +60,000 from ransoming the city, which is always nice. I feel a bit bad for Kelly Patchwork - she's his nemesis, technically. 8D

Day 6!

Andrjez and Liz only went to bed quite late, since they were up all night with the twin girls.

C: Come morning, Andrew settled in the garden. Not digging the garden thing, honestly. Maybe because the kids take up too much time to make much use of it, but
really... just not feeling it. :C

That evening, it was birthday time! :D Marie went first, growing up in medium gold.

Liz, Andrew and Andrjez are all entering red aspiration, lol. I am a bad simmer. 8\

Anne grew up too, in high green. :D

The two in the back there are three-bolters. Nice work on Jessica's behalf. :3

Why are you here? Andrew, by the way, is settling in for some hardcore studying to help his aspiration.

Here's a good shot of Anne.

She's quite pretty, isn't she. :3 The twin girls are roughly the same age as Andrea Patchwork, I believe. Jessica is quite close in age to the Omega twins and Thomas Patchwork, I think. It's a bit hard to keep track of, lol.

Here's Tabitha in the light, since I didn't get around to taking a photo the day before.

Despite being Day 7, I didn't renovate the house. Should've. Didn't. Instead, it was time for a wedding!

A boring composition of the whole family. I only took the one photo, didn't have the patience to do anything in depth. 8| Please also excuse Jessica's boy's lack of appropriate clothing. It's made up for by the adorable look they're giving each other. XD

And because I think Liz is gorgeous, here's a closeup of her.

And then there was a wedding.

Pretty awesome way to spend a sunday, if I do say so myself. :D Oh, and obviously I removed the garden. Wasn't practical, it just took up time that could have been spent skilling and job hunting.

At 6pm, by which point most people had changed out of their formal clothes, Aurora had her birthday. :D

She grew up in fairly high gold, and became a Fortune sim. She has one charisma, three logic and two cleaning skill points.

Haircut/etc lead to Aurora looking like this:

I don't love it, but it'll do until I can play that household next rotation.

After that, Andrew decided it was time to head on out, and took his leave from the family unit. Aurora went with him, a little sad to be leaving the only home she's ever known, but understanding that it's necessary.

They took 19% of the family's accrued funds of 77,000, giving them $14,000 to start over with. It wasn't technically money that they'd earned, but Andrjez reasoned that it was a gift to them, as a thankyou for everything that the young man had done for Liz.

How fortunate he never found out about what Andrew and Liz did. >_>

Inside the house, the extra space meant that Jessica could get Andrew's old room. Small compensation for losing her surrogate father and her sister. Anne moved into the room that Jessica and Aurora had shared, whilst Marie kept the old nursery and got it to herself.

Huh. Looks like those sleeping arrangements will have to be revised.

The family has no business (I should really get on that), so the tax is a flat 10%. Their remaining funds are 63,100, meaning they're taxed $6,310. Not bad for a family that started with nothing.
