Krow - Week 10 - The Torrisi-X Family

Aug 01, 2011 09:11

Welcome to Krow's Xenophillia Challenge. :D

This particular challenge is being taken up by Damien Torrisi, the firstborn son of Matthew and Chris Torrisi.

This is him:

A Knowledge sim, Damien wants to become Cult Leader... which won't be happening. He's come from an ISBI household and was never the torchholder, so he's lacking in quite a few skills and such. In accordance with the challenge, he was abducted the first night of adulthood, back when he was a part of the original Torrisi household, and is very close to popping. I have a multi PT hack... SO EXCITE.

The naming theme for these kidlets will be elements, in reverse alphabetical order. My reference page is here.

So, here's the house they'll be living in - I built it a while back on a whim, and concluded that it was ideal for a potentially large family like this one.

It comes with three bedrooms, a kitchen, a decent living room and a big backyard. If I chose to, upgrading the house to have a second story would be no problem at all.

A quick house tour for you:

Oh, and there's a robot at the end of the hall. That fellow is there to act as a nanny when Damien is off being abducted. He's not there to help or act as a spouse in any other circumstance. That plan fell through hardcore. You'll see why.

I think you're supposed to keep score with this, but I'm not. No handicaps either. I am allowing a salary of +1,000 a week to help with groceries and things like that, since he can't have a job and may otherwise go broke.

Damien settled in by brushing up on his culinary skills, given that he sure won't have time once the babies start rolling in.

Given Andrew's experiences, Damien singled him out from the Welcome Wagon to talk and make friends with. Andrew ended up staying long enough for lunch.

Lunch on the back patio is pretty much the sole reason this house exists. I built it around this moment. :3 It won't be so nice in winter, blahblah don't really care. PRETTY NOW!

Like all pregnant sims, Damien's susceptibility to exhaustion meant that by 6pm, he was ready for sleep.

He only got about two hours of sleep before it was ~showtime~!

Meet Zinc, a baby girl. C: That's three girls for three alien abductions. I guess it's true that truly random sequences have patterns.

After this Damien went back to bed for a few hours, aware that it was going to become more of a luxury than a commodity from now on.

He went to bed at 6pm again, since he's only got to go summon aliens again in an hour or two.

Not long after 7pm, he faithfully traipses out whilst the Servo comes to life.

... uhm. I wonder if this bot is actually kind of borked, I didn't think it was possible to carry the baby and do other things.

Oh, I see.

Servo was experimenting with baby disposal methods. Bad robot. 8|

Oh, and then this happened... and I don't even know why.

Damien couldn't help out or anything, he was otherwise engaged.

By this point, the Servo had come back to life. Kind of.

He attacked Damien. :C And Damien had a fear of being shocked, so...

Sigh. After all that, Damien better bloody well be pregnant.

At this point, Servo had completely broken and was sitting in a corner of the unused bedroom. There's no repairmen available until the population reaches 500, and Damien has no mechanical skills himself.

So... uhm. I guess he'll just have to sit there and I'll figure out wtf to do later. Nannies are not available until 500 either, so I have no idea how to fix this. :C I guess I'll go with the Xeno rules and summon a nanny at the time that Damien is abducted, and leave the servo til later.

...except then the game nagged me to get a mechanic by thoughtfully presenting the repairman dialogue every game half hour or so. >:| I went with the repairman... except they wouldn't be there until the morning. Since Damien was not showing any signs of pregnancy, I decided to let him nap for a while, call a nanny, and then plant himself at the 'scope.

It took ALL NIGHT (I had to rewind the time at least twice) but he eventually got abducted. Rewinding probably counts as cheating but since I don't have control over whether abduction = pregnancy or not (seeing as my sims are not coming back pregnant 100% of the time for some reason), I figure the tradeoff is worthwhile.

The scanner from ACR said HE'S NOT PREGNANT. DAMIEN. GAME. WTF R U DOIN. Hnnnngh. >:|

Fireplace Man Repairman!

Please don't make it worse. 9_9

Sup Isaiah! Kitchen hang out session, 'cause why not? It helped with bringing Damian's social bar up, it had bottomed out quite badly from all the alien-searching.

That night, he went to search again.

This, by the way, is why the Servo has been active all this time - Damien is spending all his night searching to get abducted, and can't leave Zinc unattended. I'm not controlling Servo at all, so he's doing rather nanny-like things. 8| Once Damien actually becomes pregnant, Servo can go away for a while.

Anyway! While he was off doing that, exciting things were happening inside.

Isaiah transformed and Zinc grew up. C:

C: I like her. She's distinctly different to Aurora and Harlequin, so the rest of the brood should be as well. Zinc does actually look a bit like Aurora, but they don't have the same eyes or ears, and I think Zinc's profile is different too.

Isaiah is a Family sim (I think) - so of course he promptly snatched Zinc up and played games all night. C:

A bit weirded out by this UFO business, Isaiah bid his brother goodnight and disappeared. Damien went to the business of looking after Zinc. She has a higher relationship with her uncle than with her father. Oops.

STILL NOT PREGNANT. This is the evening of Day 5, might I point out.

He's barely had time with her, poor lad.

He STILL WASN'T PREGNANT so I ended up using the sim blender to make it so. Six days of failure with at least six abductions? I think it's justified. I think what I'll do in the future is abduct him once and if he doesn't come back pregnant, use the blender. Otherwise every week will turn out this way and it'll be the worst Xenophillia Challenge ever. :C

Day 7 started with a storybook.

After breakfast I sent him to give Zinc a bath in their shiny new tub, but he opted to go throw up instead. Finally.

At this point, several days of star-gazing + a recent abduction + pregnancy meant that Damien's stats were ridiculous. Red hunger, red comfort, red energy. He was basically deadlocked in a cycle of queue-stomping. I couldn't get him to do much of anything at all.

... only six more kids to go. 6_6
