Progress!

Okay, so it's been a little while since my last entry, but I thought I'd update again. Here's how things are progressing:

I have four chapters written for Oathbound! Huzzah! The book is coming along nicely; I have it almost completely outlined, or at least outlined enough that I can write it with little pause to figure out where the story is going next. Of course, just today I happened to think of a really cool subplot that I might add to the story that would completely change almost the entire outline and make this the first book of a trilogy, but I'm going to hold off on inserting it for now. Lets see how my original idea goes first. I think the deciding factor will be length. If the story needs more fleshing out, I'll go ahead and add the subplot. Again, we shall see.

In other news, I'm heading to San Antonio on Friday. I'll be interviewing with the U.S. Air Force JAG office to see if they want me to be an attorney for the military. Whether or not I get the job, the interview process and visiting the military base is going to be an interesting experience. The interview is going to take up all of Friday morning and part of the afternoon; Jordan and I are going to spend the rest of Friday and Saturday touring San Antonio, seeing the Riverwalk and visiting the Alamo and whatnot. It will be fun. There is also a youth temple trip for the San Antonio Temple Saturday afternoon, and we will be chaperoning that as well.

Other than that, I'm plugging away at my writing. I won't hear anything back on how my short story Survivor did until next month at the earliest. I plan on cranking out another short story for Writers of the Future when the competition recommences in January (I think that's the next submissions deadline), so hopefully I'll be putting out a short story every three months, or until I win the contest, and therefore am no longer allowed to submit entries.

Oh, and for those of you reading my novel chapters as I write them, feel free to leave comments on my journal posts giving me feedback. A writer needs ego stroking. Seriously. We do. Or we stop writing. Also, if you want to be on the list of people who gets to read the chapters, let me know.
