Choosing a SSC

Hi all~

My DS has just turned 1, and we have been happily babywearing his whole life. We went to the zoo on Monday and took the stroller (I loaned my babyhawk to a friend for a few weeks), and it was such a pain! He wanted to walk...he wanted to be carried...he wanted to walk again...not once did he seem to want to be in the stroller. Also, since I wasn't thinking and brought our brand new stupidly-expensive jogger, I didn't want to leave it parked outside when we went into the buildings. Since we're walking distance from our zoo, I'm anticipating a summer of quick visits with my newly independent little walker. Taking the stroller was a big mess, and I'm worrying that the babyhawk might be just as fussy, so I'm mulling over investing in a SSC.

I love my babyhawk, but I'm thinking it would start to be a pain to pop him in and out as much as he desires during the trip. Would a buckle carrier be more convenient? I've been looking at Beco and Pikkolo, and have just discovered Patapum (but I admit to wanting something with a bit more options than black, tan, or navy). I'm a size 22...does anyone have plus size experience with Beco or Pikkolo? Any other favorite two shoulder carriers for quick in and outs?

Thanks in advance!
