A buckle carrier is probably the way to go, though I can't comment on how particular brands work for plus-size. You can often find used ones on craigslist or in the babywearing swaps (thebabywearer.com has for sale or trade boards and there's also a facebook swap: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thebabywearingswap/ )
Ergo, Beco, Olives & Applesauce are all good options... they are pricier than the Ktan, but a stretchy wrap will not be supportive for a 19lber (I stopped using our stretchy wrap when my son was ~14 lbs).
You might also have some luck with mei tais, but I prefer buckle carriers for really active use.
Are you looking for a new friend? I was checking out your lj and it would be so nice to have another mom friend WHO POSTS!!!!
let me know. thanks - ps, I still have not ordered the carrier! lol. I'm so indecisive. and I keep looking for a used price Ergo which doesn't seem to exist. bah.
always nice to have new friends! I tend to do long posts every 2 days now, cause I forget to post daily... newborn in the house, but hey, that's more often than most my friends!! I'm a die hard LJ addict.

That's how I picked my Olives and Applesauce over a Beco... it really comes down to personal preference/comfort, so trying on in advance is helpful.

I work at a cloth diaper store and we sometimes have becos, bobas and ergos that are very gently used, on sale for a lower price: (and free shipping!) https://www.abbyslane.com/Used-Baby-Carriers_c_82.html
