Adventuring

So my mom calls my name and tells me to put shoes on and come outside...so I do..and what do I find?

(this is not my picture of the turtle I found - it is just a general picture of a turtle just like the one I found)

This turtle about the size of my hand in the middle of the driveway/parking lot! So I picked him up and I put him in a bucket and I walked him back down to the river near our complex. When I finally got him there I sprinkled his face with water and then I picked him up and he was struggling with me trying to push away so I put his back feet in the water and I held him there for a second and he stopped moving and looked around like he was amazed that this big scary looking creature would not eat him...and when I put him down completely he stood for a moment and then he went diving right into the little stream and I watched him swim around for a couple of minutes, till he settled on the opposite bank. Unfortunatly I really wanted to take my shoes off, roll up my pants and start walking up the river for a little bit, because it's very secluded and fenced off from the apartments..so I want to go and see what I can see. The adventurer in me always loved doing that. Walking along rivers and finding salamadars and frogs (I love frogs) but turtles are a rareity and it was wonderful to get to see one today. But since I am sick I decided it would be wiser to return home to my bed and drink some tea and take some medicine. But OMG...holding that turtle made me remember all my summer days at Town Forest and Straton Brook and even Camp Chase when I would just walk for hours up the rivers and find cool clearings and little pools of smooth water. I love that. I love it out there. I need a brook or a stream near my house..I just love the wildlife near it too much. Someday (maybe tomorrow because its supposed to be gorgeous) I will go out and adventure up the little river here that we have. It's always made me mad, but then I was looking at it today and I thought of the deer that we have seen crossing to it and the rabbits that are around and all that really awesome stuff just hiding in that little section of land and water...so I think I will have to follow upstream ..and maybe down sometime too..I just don't know when. But soon.

That is all for now.
