Where are the single mothers?
Think about it. We don't have any single moms in Stoneybrook. (I will only use last names). If they are single, they eventually remarry.
Now, before you go all up in arms, what I mean is mother only, no father around (think Miranda in SATC prior to getting back togather with Steve).- Mrs. McGill was married (and possiably the only woman the girls know who didn't get married during the series) and Mr. McGill financially supported them. Mrs. Schafer remaried 30 books in, and so was Mrs. Thomas. Mrs. Kuhn is going through a divorce. Mrs Barrett is going through a divorce and later remarries. Mrs. Stevenson could fit the bill, but she is a widow how came in too late to the series. Almost everyone woman the girls meet or babysit is married or divorced.
There's no truly single woman with a child, except Mrs. McGill or Mrs. Stevenson, who doen't remarry or going through a divorce.
Am I right? What gives to the single woman hating Ann?
