this post as well as my own mind, even back in the day reading the books for the first time, I was wondering your thoughts on the ages of the BSC in relation to the experiences they have (babysitting so many kids for long periods of time, going on random trips, etc) and whether or not the series would have changed if the members were slightly older - say 16 and 14, which would make a little more sense.
I mean, they'd still have to be wholesome teenagers (ignoring sex and booze and typical high school), and I guess it would change the age range of the readers (maybe to early middle school?) but I still think there'd be that degree of "OMG, I want to be just like them when I'm that age"
Could they still have the same adventures? Would the series be just as popular? Could they still avoid dealing with the bigger issues?
Thoughts?
