here's something I've been wondering about. Does everyone remember what made them lose their suspension of disbelief with the BSC? Was there a moment when you realized that the girls weren't as cool as they were made out to be? Maybe a moment when you realized that the series were not the Great Books that you initially thought they were? For me, it was, respectively, when Claudia's outfits started to get more and more outlandish but the reader was constantly reassured that she looked cool, and when I started recognizing standard plots of family sitcoms in the BSC novels. I'm talking about the dividing a shared room with masking tape down the center and person A saves person B's life/person B becomes slavishly devoted to person A type scenarios. Thoughts?
