So, the show closed. But that's fine, because we'd been doing it for a month and I've got another show on the horizon. More lines and music to learn! But my (now ex-) castmates are all mostly (bexone, DON'T LAUGH) very sweet, and I got a few gifts and notes and things before all was said and done. I heard lots of very nice things from my costars, mostly related to "pleaes keep doing this, because you're really talented and we'd love to come see you in anything else you do," which... yes, I blushed. A lot. And then we took screwguns and destroyed the set. I was less emotional about this one, mostly because I was less emotional about the show -- I wasn't as close to the cast, etc. -- but it's still a bit disconcerting to destroy what has, over the course of a month and a half, been more or less our *world*.

Also, my parents were here this weekend. They flew in from Baltimore Friday night and on Saturday Mom said she wanted to walk across the Golden Gate, so we did that and also went hiking at the Dish. We honestly could not have asked for better weather Saturday -- around 70, sunny, and clear. Just absolutely perfect and glorious for hiking and photos. Then we went out to dinner and I dashed off to the theater. And then my parents saw me perform for the first time in three years. They were impressed! Or, at least, I think they were. They said they liked it, anyway. And then I got up at ass o'clock this morning to have breakfast with them before they headed back to the airport so they'd be home tonight. I thought it quite weird that they'd only show up for what amounted to one day, but it was nice to see them.

Now I finish learning some stuff for a recording project my friend is running, and then start memorizing for the new show. I feel like All Performance, All The Time, but I'm enjoying it, so that's good :)

the play's the thing, the home front
