My first experiment and experience in the kitchen attempting a strawberry shortcake!
I have so many names for it!

It started with ストロベリーショートケーキ, affectionately known in Japanese as, Sutoroberi Shoto-Keki!
Then, as the English will know it, as a strawberry shortcake!
Then of course, there's the French version. Charlottes Aux Fraisies!
But I thought my cake is more male than female (since I baked it right?) So I wanted to name it Charles Aus Fraisies.
Eventually, I decided to go for a more generic name, Gâteau Aux Fraises! Haha which simply means cake! LOL

Anyway I had lotsa fun working with cream and strawberries in the kitchen!
Especially after baking so many chocolate cakes the last 2 weeks! It is a refreshing change for a bit!

I happen to have a free day at home so decided to do a mini photo shoot with the strawberry shortcake!
What with a little home food styling by moi, great natural light and my under utilized camera...
Am rather happy with the outcome! Hope you guys enjoy the visual treat!
It is of a mixed French and Japanese influence I would say. And yet, served with a cup of English breakfast tea! Haha!
I am a walking paradox isn't it? Haha!

The taste test was good and now I am proud to say, the Gâteau Aux Fraises is officially my second bake following the chocolate cake!
