The Scorpion Oracle whispers, 'come on, turn the page.'

The light filtering into the cells dims to an orange glow, and the scent of smoke and burning meat starts to carry through the air. The doors to every cell simultaneously grind open, and the guards - those not part of the walls of the dungeons - wait to lead the prisoners down the hall and up a set of stairs worn practically ramp-smooth ( Read more... )

Fred is more or less a pile of perpetual glaring, having been smacked several times by the guards each time he tried to say something combined with this... whatever it was. He doesn't trust this new woman one bit. He's seemingly free to move around at this point, a slight bonus as he starts shifting a bit between people. "Some bloody welcome," he snaps loudly, holding his wand tightly. "Kidnapping, what a great way to make a good impression!"

Nothing else she said made much sense, and he doesn't care right now to think it over. His eyes are darting around his surroundings, searching for his twin. If all the prisoners are here, which seemed to be the case, George must be here somewhere, too, right? Then he would worry about getting out--especially if that gateway where the new arrivals stood was how to do it.

George can't help the smile that comes to his face at the voice of his twin, chiming in. "But you have to admit, being chained to a wall gave the entire thing a homey feeling!" Searching through the crowd was easier said than done, but he's always felt that they make themselves particularly hard to ignore.

And there, off to the left and a bit in front of him - George unceremoniously pushes his way through the mass of people to rest at the side of his twin. "Fancy meeting you here, Freddie," he jokes, giving Fred what George considered a winning grin.

Fred whirls around, a wide grin spreading on his face when he spots his twin. "George!" he says, pulling him into a bro hug. These bloody woods were separating the two of them far more than was appreciated. "What a spiffing surprise, just what I needed." Because it was--he felt much more confident, not to mention relieved, to have his twin back at his side, the way it was supposed to be.

He backs away looking his twin up and down for injuries, his grin turning downwards as his brows furrowed. "Did you say chained to a wall?"

"You mean you weren't at first?" And he rubs his neck on reflex, remembering how annoying it was to have a limited range of movement. Though he's certainly hugging his twin back, giving him the best reassuring grin that he can as he does it. George knows how Fred is, knows how he himself is, but knows his twin could use it more than he.

When he takes a step back he inspects everyone else - familiar faces and a number who aren't, as well as the people in the circle; including the girl with the dragons. There's a girl for Charlie if he ever saw one. "And here I was, thinking the second cell was an upgrade."

"Would you feel better if I said I was very sorry and wouldn't do it again?" Oracle looks between the two of them, her head cocked and an ironic smile on her face. "I'm not sorry, but I am good at pretending."

She gestures to the side of her own head. "At least I didn't do that."

Fred's attention shoots over to their apparent captor, but his expression is the furthest from friendly. His fingers tighten around his wand, and his glare shoots daggers. He might have been less hostile and more sarcastic, but she just had to mention George's ear--combined with mentions of his twin being chained to a wall. It's safe to say Fred is, once again, not the best of company.

"No, I wasn't," he says to George, and then back to the woman, he spits out icily, "What an absolutely fantastic offer, but I wouldn't bloody believe you regardless."
