Little by little, finally, the rain eases off into a faint drizzle, and then stops altogether. For a long minute, nothing happens - it's just rain-slick streets, clouds still hanging low overhead, and an eerie silence all through the city.

Lightning flashes in the clouds directly overhead, immediately accompanied by a deafening crack of thunder. The onset of the reality storm was gradual, but it ends abruptly, almost too quickly to follow. The clouds rush away to the west, leaving the stars and moon gleaming bright overhead. Color bleeds back into the world, all greens and blues and grays replacing the washed out gold and sepia tones of Noirland, and sidewalks and streetlights and buildings melt back into rocks and trees and the walls of the barracks. The inhabitants of the Wood may be left reeling for a moment while their proper selves return to them, weirdly blended with the memories of the city before reality reasserts itself in their minds.

In a minute, no less, everything in the Wood is exactly as it should be... and a small collection of items nestled among the roots of the Giving Tree, as if in apology:
- One magenta wizard robe from Weasleys Wizard Wheezes and one Quidditch set, for Fred and George Weasley. ...or the other way around. Who really knows for sure?
- A photograph of Dante's mother
- A basket full of bath products for the Major
- Two go bags, belonging to Spencer Reid and Emily Prentiss
- Tim Drake-Wayne's nighttime Red Robin belt
- Cissie King-Jones' bow and archery equipment
- A wrist-worn pulse monitor for Bruce Banner
- Peter Burke's FBI mug
- James Potter's Cleansweep 7 broom
- A Fenton Utility Weapon for Danny
- A big bag of Guilmon bread for Takato (and Guilmon)
- The contents of Kate Beckett's murder board for her mother, neatly assembled in a plain manila folder
