The barracks were pretty boring and that left Faith to wander out on her own, which wasn't usually recommended for most people, but Faith wasn't most people. Really, she was more comforted with the open spaces and the tall trees. Prison had been... well, a prison. Routine, lights-out, mess-hall - things that made people calm and collected. Faith was far from calm and collected most nights and the woods were giving her some crazy feeling. It was like a film on her skin that the low-pressure shower couldn't even start to wash off
( ... )
Alec wasn't exactly trying to be silent. If he was trying to be silent, he'd be doing things differently. Right now, he was just looking to not get shot again, so he was making an acceptable amount of noise so that people knew he was coming.
That didn't mean he was slacking, however. He was pretty much on high alert, and the fact that he was heading into the wind was helping. He smelled the other person out there, before he heard her, and what he smelled ... well, it was human. There was a good chunk of human, definitely, but there was something else to it. Something that he didn't recognize at all, but that was nothing new for this place. Then he started to hear the footfalls of whoever it was up until they stopped, and decided that drawing attention to himself might be a better move here.
"Hello?" He was just loud enough to be heard by anyone who was nearby, but not too loud. "Anybody out there?"
Taking a deep breath, she smirked, pushing off the tree, "Yeah a shitload of trees and me."
Shaking her head, she cut through some more of the trees, trying to meet whoever it was in the middle at the very least. "Maybe some dead bodies, cause this forest is pretty damn creepy."
Alec turned in the direction of the voice and started heading in her direction as well. "Dead bodies. Great. Decomposing flesh is just what I need today." The last thing he needed was to get the stink of it in his jacket. Dead people fumes never, ever came out of leather. He liked this jacket, and he didn't want to have to burn it -- regardless of whether or not there was now a bullet hole in it.
When he actually met her in the middle, he looked her over with an appreciative glance, before giving her a bit of a smile that was just on the edge of flirty. "Hi."
Once she met up with whoever was lost in the woods, she tilted her head to the side, a confused look flashing on her features. Her finger lifted for a moment, "Wait a minute. Did you get like... ten years younger between the other day and right now? 'Cause that's weird."
Glancing around the woods, she looked at the tree, "If this forest has some fountain of youth, I'm swimming in the damn thing."
He takes a moment to look at her, not a once over like he had done before, but really looking at her, and he didn't recognize her. He never forgot a face. Even if Manticore had tried to take them away, he would get flashes, pieces, when faced with something familiar, and that wasn't happening. He didn't know her. He never met her. Which, as far as he was concerned, meant two things: a) if there was a fountain of youth, he would love to watch her swim in it, and b) she was probably confusing him with someone else.
He couldn't help but be a little paranoid about that.
Okay, not that Faith didn't think she was a memorable girl, but the fact that they'd woken up in the woods and then spent a few days together, she was certain that he'd remember.
Which was weird that he didn't. Maybe this forest had really done something horrible to him, so she didn't want to exactly push it if his head was going to explode or something.
"I thought so, but maybe not. I mean, I swore we all met about a week or so ago. When we woke up here in the crazy woods. I'm Faith."
"Alec," he said with a nod, before responding. "Trust me, if we had, I would have remembered you."
It wasn't just because of his memory. You only forget a body like that if you're a straight girl or a gay guy. And even then, that was a pretty big if.
Faith smirked, it was flattering and actually a lot more like the usual greeting she got. Most people were too wrapped up in the 'what the fuck happened' to even really take a good look at the people around them. The thing was that she was pretty sure that Dean guy was a dead ringer for this Alec guy.
Maybe they were related, but she'd figure that out later.
"Well, now that we've been introduced - did you just, randomly wake up in the woods?"
"Yeah, pretty much," he said with a nod. "One minute getting shot in the arm, the next minute ... Narnia."
He paused, rethinking that for a moment, before glancing around. "Though I'm not sure if Narnia works. I didn't walk through a door or something, I just sort of ... passed out. Which really, passing out over a flesh wound like this is a bit embarrassing. I've had way worse."
"Not Narnia..." Faith only knew that from the movies and she hadn't even seen them. "There were huge spiders and crazy insane things going on. But no one's come to the Narnia conclusion."
She took a beat though, glancing at him with a bit of concern, "You got shot? Are you... still shot?" She pointed toward his arm, unsure of what arm it might be.
"Yeah, that definitely doesn't sound like Narnia." A beat. "Spiders? Seriously? I land in the place that thinks huge spiders are their idea of a good time?"
He gave a bit of an involuntary shudder. It wasn't that he was arachnophobic. It was just creepy. Not to mention unsanitary. Spiders were vicious things when they were tiny and he could only imagine how that increased proportionally when they got bigger ...
Her asking about the bullet would knocked him off the spider train of thought and turned his attention back to her. "Still shot? Yeah." His eyes went back to the wound on his left shoulder and he shrugged with the right. "I just need to wrap it up, mostly. Otherwise, I'm gonna live."
She was still pretty damn sure that this guy was already at the barracks, with another name. It was weird, but then again so were giant spiders and waking up in the woods. Plus, add in all the other crazy different times things - and she'd have a whole set of things that didn't add up to anything.
"There're plenty of empty cabins. I'm sure you'll find something that'll work that isn't the floor," she smirked at him for a moment before shaking it off, "Come on, we'll get you five by five in no time."
He smirked back at her before following her lead back in the direction of the cabins. "Yes, ma'am," he said with a nod, adjusting the messenger back on his shoulder so that it didn't bump against his arm.

Rubbing her shoulder, she shrugged, "There's a place up the way. We've all sort of just ... moved in. Cabins, a few rundown buildings."
Her brow furrowed, "We should get your arm looked at, even if you are gonna live."

"That would be fantastic," he said with a nod. "I'm all for not sleeping on the ground."
