[approaches the kid with the bird once paying for the bag of sweets] Does the bird ever respond to you?

[looks up at him and smiles] Of course. She tells lovely stories if one is willing to stretch their imagination.

Oh, you know. She's singing away about the beauty of the sky.

[chuckles softly] In case you're wondering, no. I don't truly believe that I'm capable of understanding animals. I simply enjoy listening to the song.

To converse with nature is to be in touch with one's surroundings.
