Wow! This was actually more fun than last time! I think it had something to do with me leaving in the morning this time instead of around lunchtime.
Anyways, I had my alarm set for 7:30. It went off, but I shut it off and decided to sleep another hour. So I did, got up and had breakfast for the first time since I got back from Athens.
Traffic going over there was actually a lot better than last year. Last year, I-4 was packed like the worst of hell, but this year, traffic was only slow for about two miles or so.
Parking was not a big issue either. When I pulled in, the sign above the payment kiosk read $13 for parking, but when I handed the guy the money, he said it was only $8. I didn't have to spend half the day waiting in line for tickets either, as somebody directed us to a handful of shorter ticket lines outside. I was beginning to have a feeling this was going to be a good day.
And it certainly was! I met all four of the actors I had planned to meet, and they were all very, very nice.
I met Mira Furlan (Delenn from Babylon 5) first. She seemed pretty quiet, which was okay. But personally, I think she looked a little upset that Bruce Boxleitner couldn't make it. She signed a trading card for me (because I have a whole box set of B5 trading cards at home) and a photo of her as Delenn. It was actually a photo of her and Bruce posing together as Capt. Sheridan and Delenn. It's a really nice picture. She personalized it for me too! *g* I was so nervous when I met her. My hands were shaking so badly, I had a little trouble pointing out which photo for her to sign. But she was really nice about it. (SHE SAID MY NAME! DELENN SAID MY NAME! AAAHHHHH!!! *is extremely happy*)
After getting her out of the way, I went on to meet the TNG actors next. Marina Sirtis was first.
Marina is extremely nice, and very hyper! She kept getting up out of her seat to talk to people and take pictures with them. She's very easy to talk to, and was always smiling. I'd definitely recommend meeting her.
Michael Dorn was next. He wasn't as bubbly and outgoing as Marina, but he was still very polite. I asked him about flying with the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds, and he perked up instantly, and told me that he hadn't been flying with them much, but is planning to sometime in the near future. I told him my sister is a cadet at USAFA, and he said that was really cool. Michael Dorn (or "Dornie" as Marina calls him) is so skinny now! He has gray hair too, and he's starting to go bald (either that or he shaves, I don't know). Anyway, I kept glancing at him while I'm waiting in line, and I'm thinking to myself, he looks like he could be a black Captain Picard!
Jonathan Frakes. I love this guy!! I really do! He's so cool! He's also very easy to talk to, and he's extremely funny. I wonder what it would be like if he, Marina, Michael and Brent all did a con together (which I'm sure they have before). That would be a riot!! Anywho, when he personalized his photo for me, he told me he had a babysitter with the same name as me! That is the SECOND time a Trek actor told me they know somebody with my name! The first time it was Bob Picardo last year, and he told me he had a crush on a girl in high school with the same name as me. But then again, Frakes might have been flirting with me. Oh well, I don't care, I could dream. Aside from that, I told him I really enjoyed the Librarian movies he's done, and he grinned back and said that he actually called Noah Wylie (who plays the main character Flynn Carsen) and spoke with him about another upcoming sequel he's planning to do. He said they'll be filming in China for it. This is awesome news! It really is! Jonathan Frakes is the coolest guy I've ever met! :)

Since I had gotten there early and finished getting my autographs before lunchtime, I decided to muck around for four hours and do some shopping. The autographs really ate through my cash (boy, am I glad I decided to opt out of meeting William Shatner--the guy charged $65 for one), so I had to use my CC for a few things that weren't enough in cash.
I bought:
3 action figures
~Londo Mollari (Babylon 5)
~Counselor Troi (in uniform, not in the pajamas she usually wore on the show)
~K'Ehleyr
3 T-shirts from Offworld Designs
~"League of Extraordinary Librarians" (THIS is my signature T-shirt. I'll be wearing it a lot while I'm in grad school. :P)
~"Bones" - it's got Dr. McCoy printed on it, but his name has the House M.D. design to it.
~"Geek Orthodox" - plain and simple. One of my professors will get a kick out of it.
A resin prop model of a Ranger pin from Babylon 5 - I FINALLY got my hands on an actual prop pin!! Now I can put my mind at ease, now that I don't have to scrounge to the ends of the earth for a Ranger pin.

I finished off the day with the TNG panel. My gosh, Frakes, Marina and Michael are soooo hilarious together! They started off with Marina telling us about how she brought her dog on set and how everyone made fun of him, including Brent, who threatened to put him in the microwave. XD
Michael Dorn talked about this one time when he kept teasing Sir Patrick by threatening to smash an egg over his bald head. He also said that whenever Picard and Riker turned around to sit back down in their seats (after an "on-screen" conversation with an alien ship), they would make faces at him. Of course, Dornie would get back at him by pretending to screw off the top of Sir Patrick's bald head and use it as an imaginary ashtray, or say things like "The king now sits on his throne, not knowing that death is near," or something like that, and Sir Patrick would ham up a death scene. XD
Frakes mentioned that they've been trying to bring Gargoyles back, but he's not sure if Disney will ever have time to do it, or find a good enough time to air it (I don't blame him...Disney's too concerned with money-making shit like Hannah Montana to care about airing good TV shows anymore). Speaking of good TV, Frakes also said that Nathan Fillion is bringing Firefly back. This makes me very happy, not only that it's coming back, but that Jonathan Frakes is a big fan of it too!
It was such an awesome day. Traffic was good, I didn't have to spend a year and a day waiting in line for tickets and searching for my car, and I met the coolest people ever! The only downside was, it was more crowded and hectic than the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. I'm glad I don't have agoraphobia--I wouldn't have lasted a minute if I did.
P.S. I'm surprised to have met SO MANY Firefly fans. I'm serious! They're everywhere! Last year, I think most of the fans were Hetalians, but this year, it's like everywhere I turn, there's somebody claiming to be a big fan of Firefly (and most of them weren't even cosplaying)! Heck, even Jonathan Frakes mentioned it was a good show!
So yeah. Awesomeness. :D
P.P.S. I'm sure you're wondering where the pictures are. I'll upload them with my next entry. I'm getting ready for bed, because I'm bushed.
