I am so tired of seeing parents who think they should just raise their kid naturally, and who refuse to do the hard stuff--like disciplining, being The Bad Guy, or setting boundaries.
Seeing kids out in public makes me just cringe, and want to smack their clueless parents, who can't seem to figure out why Junior is acting like a little hellion, when Junior knows darn well there's no consequence to Mom or Dad's suggestions that they STOP.
Of course, then after I get so smug about OTHER people's kids, I get a zinger of an email from Cameron's teacher, telling me he lied (again) about his homework, that he's been willful and ignoring the playground teacher while he's throwing pinecones at other children. When asked, he gives me a litany of excuses for this week's antics, all of which having nothing to do with the phrase "Yeah, it is my fault".
Deep sigh. Now I have to go be The Bad Guy, when I was hoping for a fun weekend with the kids at home.
