Disclaimer: I kind of want to write a story of a popular guy with a normal guy. The idea came after brainstorming for a long time!
Summary: Inoo Kei opens a tea shop and Arioka Daiki is a famous bachelor businessman. A coincidence visit the shop, sparkles something deep inside both Inoo and Arioka. But Arioka has a bad nasty past, can Inoo accept?
Notes: Hello, this is my first InooAri fanfic. Both character will be of the same sex and this is rated, just to be safe.
Inoo Kei smiles to himself as he opens to the door to his little tea shop and gives a small shout of ohayo to everything and anything inside his shop. It is already spring, so the weather wasn’t so cold anymore. Inoo took off his jacket and boil some water before sweeping the floor. He has the habit of drinking a cup of lavender tea before starting for the day, his 2 nd daiski from his ichiban of white rice.
‘Inoo, inoo, okay!’ Kana shouted and burst into the shop. ‘One cup of Oolong tea please.’ She announced while popping herself to seat at the counter. She swings her leg happily while seated on the tall chair and looking at Inoo prepare her tea. He presents her a matching purple tulip design cup and saucer, and a plate with a few assorted cookies.
‘Duozo.’ Inoo beams and smiles wider when Kana can’t stop moaning how good the cookies taste. ‘Glad you like it.’ Inoo said and pop two more on Kana’s plate. ‘This is on me, enjoy.’ He said and tuck the container back on the shelves.
‘Wow, the great Inoo okay just treated me cookies. I might just fall for you even more.’ She confessed, but with hints of joking tone. Inoo laughs it off but he has no idea how true that was for Kana. Kana left after a 30 minutes stay in the tea shop before going to work. Kana is a designer and her timing is flexible so Inoo would see Kana at different timing of the day, but mostly in the morning.
‘Konnichiwa.’ Inoo says whenever the doorbell rings. He smiles at the new customer in casual wear he has never seen before presenting him the menu after he has settled down on one of the window seats. He noticed a small faint scar on the new customer’s knuckles and thought it was contrary from his cute image. Maybe this man is not as cute as he looks like.
‘What would you like to drink?’ Inoo politely ask and waits for the customer to look through the menu.
‘Etto, I am having trouble sleeping due to stress, could you recommend any tea for me to relax? I like some cookies too.’ He pointed at a picture with assorted cookies.
‘Sure thing.’ Inoo nods. ‘Chamomile tea might be a good choice, it’s mild and can help you relax.’ Inoo explains and the customer nods almost immediately.
Inoo chose an orange polka dots tea cup and saucer for this cute looking customer. He prepares the newly bought strawberry shortcake cookies on another matching plate and brings out to the customer. Inoo has around 15 sets of matching tea cup and saucer, along with another dozens of cute plates. He likes to mix and match what he feels is suitable for the customers and always get a positive response.
‘Sorry for the long wait.’ He apologizes as he place the order on the table.
‘Wow, its orange polka dots, how cute!’ The man exclaimed and this warms Inoo’s heart to hear his compliment. He left the man to enjoy his tea and cookies while he did some housekeeping chores.
‘Is this a newly opened shop?’ Inoo looks up to see his only customer trying to start a conversation with him. ‘
‘Yes.’ Inoo nods while he cleans his cups and some utensils. ‘It was open just last week.’
‘You must have love tea, huh?’ the man continues asking and this time he has bought his order with him together to seat on the counter. ‘I’ve been here for 1 hour and there isn’t any other customers.’ He asks, but Inoo doesn’t felt offended at all.
‘Ha, yes. I specially chose this small town and this was expected.’ He looks at the shop. ‘I’ll be happy if you could become a regular here.’ Inoo sincerely requested and earn a laugh from the cute guy.
‘Don’t you need to earn to make a living?’
‘I do, I make enough.’ Inoo answered, happy that someone is interested in his life since he has been alone all his life after his family members passed away a few years ago in a car accident. Other than his good friend Yamada who would contact him once in a while due to his busy schedule of being a popular member of NYC, Inoo is practically alone.
‘Sou?’ the customer said and sigh. ‘Many people are troubled with their lives and it seems like an unachievable dream to live as one desire.’ Inoo nods and looks at the man differently. Maybe he has too much stress in his life.
‘Do you need more tea?’ Inoo asks as he notices the empty cup.
‘No.’ the man smiles and handed him a name card.
‘Arioka Daiki?’ Inoo says as he reads the small white card. Nothing is on it except his name and phone number.
‘Yes. Ah, I am a businessman.’ Arioka explains when he sees the questioning look on Inoo’s face.
‘Hai. I am Inoo Kei, you can call me Inoo chan.’ Inoo kindly offers and Arioka decides to be called Daiki or Dai chan though they did not know each other close enough to be called like this.
‘Thank you Inoo chan, I will come again.’ Daiki says after making his payment.
‘Yes, thank you.’ Inoo bows and looks at Daiki walking out of the shop.

‘Inooooooo, you seems to be in a good mood today!’ Kana pouts as she looks at Inoo smiling ear to ear every now and then. Kana came to the shop earlier than usual because she gave up sleep after working late last night.
‘Here’s your green tea, extra large.’ Inoo puts the only super big blue cloud pattern tea cup infront of Kana. ‘Am I?’ Inoo asks, but continues to work.
‘You’re ignoring me.’ Kana whines and moans when she drinks the hot tea. ‘This is so nice. Why does this taste so different from the tea I brew?’ She sighs and Inoo could only shakes his head. Kana lives nearby and became a regular as soon as this shop is open. It seems like she is living alone and her parents are living in another city.
‘Probably you’re drinking while chatting with me/’ Inoo causally asked and Kana can’t stop agreeing in her head.
‘Yeah right. It’s because of the cup, Inoo okay.’ She rebukes and left after chatting a bit more with Inoo.
Inoo looks at the clock that shows 9PM. He has not realized he has been staring at the clock since Kana left and it is already so late. Is Daiki still coming?
Inoo has been kept busy with a group of girls who came to visit the shop and another bunch of students coming into the shop to study. It became quiet only half an hour ago.
Inoo thought maybe he wasn’t coming since Daiki might be busy and unlike yesterday, today is Monday.
‘Sorry, we are closing.’ Inoo announced when he hears the doorbell rings and is stunned to see Daiki. It is already 9.30PM, late in the night. Why is he here? To fulfil his promise? Inoo can’t help to feel happy and relaxed to see this incoming man dressed with white shirt and dress pant. His leather shoes make a clear tapping sound as he approaches the counter.
‘I’m sorry, but can I have a drink? I know it’s late…’
‘Sure, sure.’ Inoo was embarrassed he cut Daiki’s words. ‘What do you want to drink?’ Inoo asks calmly.
‘Chamomile tea. Thanks to you, I had a great sleep yesterday.’ He smiles and Inoo’s heart skip a beat hearing his words.
‘Sou?’ Inoo asks and quickly set to prepare the tea. Why is he feeling warm and excited all of a sudden?
‘What time do you normally close the shop?’ Daiki asks while swinging his legs in the air.
‘9PM.’ Inoo says as a matter of fact, not wanting to lie though he still haven’t left. He wonder if he was waiting for Daiki.
‘Oh, I’m sorry. It is way pass your closing time.’ Daiki frowns as he looks at his watch. ‘I should have came earlier. Meeting was delayed.’ Daiki confessed and Inoo nods his head.
‘It’s fine. I need to clear some stuffs too.’ Inoo finds himself standing to the left side of the counter near Daiki to wipe the dry tea cups.
‘You have a lot of beautiful tea cups.’ Daiki compliments as he looks at his yellow sunflower print cup. ‘This is very pretty too.’
‘Thank you. I either bought them overseas or while I’m travelling around Japan. It’s one of my hobbies.’
‘Hobbies?’
‘Ah, sou. I play the piano too.’ Inoo explains and earn a knowingly nod from Daiki.
Time seems to pass faster as compare to the time Inoo waited for Daiki during the day. Before the duo noticed, it is already 11PM.
Daiki starts to yawn and was surprised it was already later than he thought it was.
‘Oh wow, look at the time.’ Daiki exclaimed. ‘I better go, it’s late.’ Daiki quickly takes out his wallet to settle the payment. It has indeed way past Inoo’s sleeping time of 10.30PM and despite feeling tried, Inoo somehow feels energetic as he hears Daiki talks about his day and things about himself. He found it cute that Daiki still hopes to grow taller and is diligently drinking milk at this age.
‘I will come again tomorrow.’ Daiki informed as he receives the change from Inoo. ‘At an earlier timing.’
‘Do you live near here?’ Inoo asks, though he is happy Daiki kept his promise but there is no need to visit his shop every day. ‘I earn enough so you wouldn’t need to come every day and contribute to my earnings.’ Inoo joke, but in a strict tone.
Daiki was surprised at the way Inoo was speaking but laughed out loud seconds later when he caught the meaning behind Inoo’s words.
‘Don’t worry, I came because I want to. And I drive, so it does not matter.’ Daiki assured and this is the second time of the day Inoo’s heart skip a beat. Inoo put his hands behind his back and starts to pinch his knuckles. What’s wrong with him for feeling a pound in his heart? For god sake, Daiki is a man and Inoo likes girls.
That night, both men has a good nigh sleep.
