hello all
i realize that this is a really lame way for me to publicize this event, but i know i will be able to reach more of you through livejournal than in person and i really want to tell as many people as possible.
so, i have been working on this giganto fundraiser since the beginning of summer and it is actually coming together. pretty much what it is is the muslim student union has asked local businesses to donate $1 for every non muslim student that fasts on thursday November 13 to Community Kitchen. So pretty much the whole idea is you go hungry for a day so someone else doesn't have to. We've already raised about $500 dollars and we just need more people to pledge. this is going to be a nation wide event. we've had about 42 other universities that have signed up and will be donating the money they raise to their local food banks.
