People's brushes with celebrity...
My brother called me yesterday and left me a very long and rambley message. The gist of which was that he saw Ben Affleck in Davis Sq. Somerville, MA. He was bearded and smoking (Ben, not my brother) and my brother approached him ever so quitely so as not to attract attention and said hi, shook his hand, congratulated him on knocking up Jennifer Garner, who thankfully wasn't there to hear that, and then talked about the Red Sox for a bit. My brother said Ben was very nice if not scruffy.
Which leads me to another story which I will keep brief. I sat behind Matt Damon at a play a few years ago and kicked his chair the entire time to see if he would turn around and tell me to stop. He didn't.
The house across the street from my friend's house was used for the filming of Karate Kid III with Academy Award Winner Hilary Swank. My friend spent the entire time they were filming sitting on the curb drinking wine and watching the goings on. Apparently, Hilary was a real bitch and not very nice.
Debra Messing had lunch at a friend's Cafe here on Cape Cod. It was reported to me that she was very boney.
I had lunch sitting next to Lyle Lovett in Hugos in West Hollywood.
A friend was at a party with Jenna Elfman.
I saw a taping of the TV show Friends.
Robin Christopher from All My Children shopped where I worked once.
I saw John Kerry buying cookies at Fanueil Hall way before he ran for president.
I sat next to Michael Dukakis on the Green Line train once after his failed presidential race. I'm sensing a pattern.
My friend rode with Lil' Kim in an elevator in Las Vegas. She was dressed like a Ho and her "posse" looked very itimidating.
