HAPPY BIRTHDAY angry_biscuit!
beekerzwhirled Yeah I was in Orlando Saturday. After you posted that I realized that I never told ya'll what was going on cause I never know who reads this & didnt want to accidentally blow the surprise! My best friend in the universe is getting married on the 23rd in Rome so on Saturday me, her mom, grandmother, & little sister drove to Orlando for a surprise bridal shower. We got a few of her friends & family together & had dinner at the restaurant where her & Shane went the night they got engaged. It was so sweet. Have you ever been to Wall Street--the 8 bars in downtown? Good times & strong drinks!
SO Mpnday night/yesterday sucked the big one.
* DSW doesn't have the boots I saw in Orlando.
* Spent ALL the $$ we had for Christmas at Target & still have 3 people to buy for.
* After decorating the entire tree, went to put on our "tradition" ornaments from last year & broke it (more details to follow).
* Didn't get to bed till midnight.
* Couldn't find Joan's gift for the Christmas ta-do at work.
* Was 30 minutes late to work because of looking for said-gift.
* Computer wouldn't boot.
* Spent all day on the phone with the techie.
* When computer finally "repaired" & booted (approx. 1:30) my email wasn't working.
* No cute shoes at SRI. :o(
* Sean's gone.
* The ass-munch that's stealing my job is going to be at our office today!
And because I don't want to be all negative:
* My tree looks fan-damn-tastic.
* My husband made me cry happy tears.
* I get half the day off today for a fake "job agency meeting" at the suggestion of my co-workers.
* We got 90% of our Christmas shopping done for $250 in 1 hour.
* Found Joan's gift last night.
* Made 4 cute Christmas cards.
* Did a kick ass 2-page scrapbooking layout.
* Beautiful sunrise colors this morning as I was leaving for work.
* My email is functioning today.
* Sean comes home tonight.
* I'm going shoe & skirt shopping in my time off work today.
Ok. So last year Sean & I started this tradition where on Christmas eve we give each other an ornament. Last year I ordered this kick-ass one from the Chuckies site & it's all customized & personalized & cuuuute. He forgot and ran out to Hallmark at the last minute and picked up this snow globe looking thing where you wind it and the people dance & it says "Our First Christmas."
So as we're decorating the tree, these 2 ornaments are patiently waiting to be put on. As Sean's setting up the camera for the posed shot, I pick up the ornament and it falls out of its clear packaging and shatters all over the floor. I stand there with my mouth gaping for like 5 minutes & then, of course, start to cry. Sean's dumbfounded & then the "lightbulb goes off." He sweeps it all up, cuts a piece of limb off the tree & runs away to the kitchen. He comes back a few minutes later & hands me the box that the ornament was in. On top he wrote:

I cried some more. How cute is that! Now he told me that every Christmas eve I'm going to get 2 ornaments. One to keep & one to break as we decorate the next year. When I protested and said that was a waste of time & glass he said (while laughing) "Well would you rather do that new tradition or be the b*tch that just broke the first ornament I gave you?" My tears turned to laughter & we retired to bed. Love him!
