It's been a hell of a long time since I last updated but I've been kinda of busy and my computer was down for a few days. Besides, my layout is appearing broken and I've heard it is because of the sponsered account and that's very frustating ( Read more... )

Hmm i'm having so many mixed emotions about the world cup. I'm english, so over here its a BIG deal, but its getting silly. EVERYTHING is about the world cup now, are people putting brazilian flags on their cars like people are doing here?! This is thr part that bothers me, why is it only okay to be patriotic when theres a football tournament on? GRRRR. Although i will watch the match this afternoon and sntuff, it just bothers me that the whole world has to stop for football for crying out loud.
Sorry, your journal isnt the place for my rants! See you in the final ;)

There have been flags hanging from people's cars since, i don't know, March! LOL I have a big brazillian flag hanging on my balcony and i bought shirts and those things that you blow in and they make a really loud noise (i don't know the name in english, sorry). We don't have school on the days that Brazil plays and companies actually dismiss their employees earlier so they can watch the game. They say Brazil is the country of football for a a million reason! O.O I can understand your frustration, but i think this whole commotion is nice in a way. It unites the country and i think that's priceless. I lived in the USA for a year and they don't have something that brings the whole country together there and i really missed that. And i don't think it's about being patriotic only in the World Cup, it's about celebrating and being moved by this beautiful sport that it's football and doing that with and for your country. It only gets negative when there's fanatism involved, but that can't be blamed on football. Sorry for the huge comment, ( ... )

This is what i mean though, there are more things going on in the world. I agree though about how it unites the country, and the atmosphere in the cities with the big screens must have been awesome yesterday, better than watching it on my own lol its not quite the same getting excited about a goal on your own!

I get what you're saying. I think we're just enjoying it for now since it only lasts a month anyway. Does England have a big rival? You know, someone you ALWAYS roots against? Here we root against Argentina and let me tell you, it's almost as fun as rooting for Brazil. *evil laugh*

lol our major rivals are probably Germany, its kind of a "we love to hate them but we love them really" type relationship! The problem, is, i study german and i love the country and the people, so its so hard for me to want them to lose! We're not big fans of scotland either...good job they didnt get through then! :D
