Faire Day for a Clumsy Dibble anonymous August 6 2003, 23:22:51 UTC
I had to work today at the Ren Faire but I can't decide if it was a good day or bad.
I was ten minutes late because they closed down Lincoln and we got stuck behind someone doing 30 under the speed limit. Finally showed up at the Renaissance Faire.
Then when I reach the employees gate, the guy in charge and a security guard are throwing a fit because of where my mom "parked". They were going to go over there and give her a fine, but I had to inform them that she just stopped there to drop me off and make sure I got through the gate okay.
Then it turns out that my normal boss wasn't there today, so I needed to deal with her twit of a husband.
I worked in the Crystal Shop, instead of hats. I have to say I like working at Crystal much more than the hat shop. I talked to more actors today than I did all last season.
An attractive guy kissed my hand. He was hilarious. He was wearing a kilt and seems to be on the staff. He insulted a counsellor by saying her seamtress must have gotten mad and her and viomited on her shirt (she was wearing an ugly tye-dyed shirt). He was a sweety, and I can't remember his name.
Then I got to see the new guy playing Robin Hood. I was talking to a group of teenage girls and he walked by. I swooned. He is so gorgeous that its heaven just looking at him. I didn't get to talk to him though, but if I get my chance I'm going to say my name is Marion, as in Maid Marion.
Then I got to talk to Lanky, the rope maker. He was playing around with a group of teenage boys because they were pointing at him and laughing.
Also met two acts for the circus they had there. A mime on stilts, and a clown.
Talked to a pirate too. I decided I must draw him in my comic book.

Then my day took a turn for the worse. I was waiting on a customer. And when trying to reach the one piece of crystal, I had to step on a chair. Things that don't mix together is chairs and long skirts. I stepped on the hem of my skirt and tipped over. I had a huge bruise on my arm now and the chair landed on me. It hurt my pride more than my body because said customer had a gorgeous boyfriend.
Then later on a stupid little kid broke a glass "Love-Meter" and it was filled with some kind of toxic liquid that got all over my hands. I learned it was toxic thirty minutes later when my boss came back. Thank god I don't lick my hands. The kid had $2 on him, and his counsellor had to pay for it. I felt bad for her. But she's a good sport, and funny too when she asked for the evidence to present to the kids parents.
I discovered that my wallet was emptied out when I tried buying lunch. I had to get a twenty dollar advance on my pay.
Little kids suck! All the money they bring with them is $5, but they ask me the price of every single object in the shop. And they ask me all at one. I had to deal with 4 groups at once. Each group having one counsellor and 6 kids. I was so sick of having to deal with people that when I asked a man "If he knew what the hour was upon" and he answered 2:30 I cheered.
But seeing Robin Hood and getting my hand kissed made everything great.
