October is the birthday month

Last Thursday was M's birthday but since it took us forever to finish the birthday cake he bought me a week and a half ago, I decided to get him some pretty cupcakes instead. For his pressie, I got him the Xbox 360. Although it definitely can't compare to the birthday surprise he planned for me, he was pretty stoked when he got it so I guess it was a good choice. :)

I also took him out to dinner at Forty One, which as the name suggested, is on the forty one floor of a building so it had lovely views of the city. The food was pretty good, although I have to say the standout dishes was the seared carpaccio of kangaroo with pickled shallots, shredded baby cabbage & aged reggiano salad. I always thought kangeroo meat would be kinda tough, but this was soooo tender and didn't have the strong meat taste that I expected kangeroo to have either. The lychee sorbet with strawberries & passionfruit topped with french champagne that M had for dessert was also really nice, very light and refreshing although this is probably something that can be recreated quite easily at home. Anyway we didn't take any photos unfortunately, but I've uploaded some photos of us from a salsa cruise at the harbour on Friday night.
