May Your Wish Come True!
Birthday Ficlet - March, 5th
Fandom : THE FACULTY
Pairing : Casey/Zeke
Rating : PG
Summary : Casey saves a kitty but can't keep it home. Zeke comes to the rescue!
“Stop that you prat!”
Zeke raised an eyebrow. He may not know this Connor boy but one thing was sure he actually never saw him stand his ground or say a word even when the guys from the football team are harassing him.
And now, here he stood, little weak thing, in front of three of them to defend a little stray cat the guys had decided to aim for with stones.
“Seems like someone will get what they wish for” drawled Gab.
“Seems like some big guys just can’t try it with bigger stuff and always have to molest smaller” answered Zeke standing in front of them.
“A problem, Tyler?” drawled Gab.
“Definitely, Gab. You’re such a nuisance. We can solve that right now”
Sure, Zeke knows those guys are not fools and would never try him. If they did that would be interesting.
A few days later, Zeke found Casey sitting at the fountain in front of Annette’s Diner. The little cat was sitting on his laps, purring.
“Hey!” whispered Casey when he saw him.
Zeke sighed. Zeke helped him a few days ago, that didn’t mean they have to be familiar to each other now.
“What are you doing with that kitty around?” he asked though.
“My parents found her in my bedroom and threw her outside. Mum doesn’t want animals at home. I don’t know what to do. I can’t leave her outside alone. She is too small and weak”
Zeke sighed once again sitting next to the boy and looking at the little furry ball.
“Meoooow” said the little ball looking at him with its big blue eyes.
The thing looks like a mini-Connor.
He gently took it.
“What are you doing?” asked the boy, clearly afraid.
“I do leave alone. It can come with me”
Zeke didn’t know why he cared about the little thing but he did know what solitude is.
“She” smiled the boy “It is a girl”
Zeke barely nodded.
He got up and walked away.
“Coming, yeah?” he asked the boy when he saw he wasn’t following him “Don’t know what she needs”
The Connor boy lighted up like a Christmas tree. What an annoying guy!
“Sure!”
A week later, Zeke found Casey waiting for him in front of his door.
“I bought some toys for the girl” he said, clearly not at ease.
“Yeah?”
“Can I come in and see her?” he gently asked.
Zeke rolled his eyes. Seemed like he didn’t adopt a stray cat but two!
“’Kay” he grumbled.
The kitty came to them as soon as he opened the door trying to climb on Zeke’s leg.
“She likes you!” exclaimed Connor.
“Why wouldn’t she?” asked Zeke.
“I didn’t mean to annoy you” whispered the boy “I’m just happy she found a good house and a nice owner”
Zeke didn’t answer. He wasn’t used to kind words.
“Tyler?” asked the boy.
“Oh, come on! Call me Zeke, Connor!” he answered.
“It’s Casey, then”
“Yeah. ‘Kay, Casey boy!” mocked Zeke.
The boy actually blushed.
“Ok, what?”
“How did you name her?” the boy asked him shyly.
“Name her?”
“Yeah, she needs a name”
“Suppose you already took care of her name”
He blushed once again and nodded.
“So?”
“Prisca!” smiled the boy.
“Prisca?”
“Yeah… Why not?”
Casey Connor was now looking at him with his big blue eyes and Zeke couldn’t help but think about his kitty when she was asking for food or petting.
“Okay, okay! Let it Prisca then!”
